Donating to a charity in honor of someone who has passed away is a great way to honor their memory. 

ShivaListings.com provides a list popular charities to which users can donate, in honor of someone they have lost.  This list contains charities which are commonly selected for donations. 

When creating a new listing, the creator of the listing will be directed to a charity page, where the user will select from any charities which appear on the list.  Users will also have the ability to add a custom charity which does not appear on the list, such as a local temple or animal shelter.
