How It Works
Once you are an authorized funeral home you can create listings for your clients. Authorized funeral homes have the ability to create new listings. Almost all of the information needed is probably information you already have.
- Create a ShivaListings account. This is free and requires an email address for a person designated as the primary mourner, their name and a password that you create (they can later log in and change this to one of their choosing). Click “Create a Listing” (under the “For Funeral Homes” tab near the top of the page) and fill in the information boxes. If there are items you don’t know the answer to yet, don’t worry - you or the primary mourner can add to it later. Fill out only the information that they want to share. Remember one of the strengths of Shiva listings is the ability to search by family members in addition to the deceased, therefore it is important to enter all of the key family members that people may use for searches.
- Use the shiva information boxes to convey information about when and where the family will be sitting shiva and use the text box for additional information, such as special dietary requests.
- When you are finished, click “publish this listing”.
If you (or the primary mourner) want to add or modify information:
- Login with your email address and password.
- Click “Update a Listing” under the “For Funeral Homes” tab (the primary mourner or his designate will use the “For Mourners” tab).
- Add or change the information as you see fit.
